Failed septic systems and groundwater and shoreline contamination are an ongoing problem here on Vashon. The Greens are working with the Community Council and other Vashon citizens to explore the possibility of a Public Utility District on Vashon to clean up septic and groundwater problems and support alternative energy and waste management projects. Steve Graham is coordinating this effort, chairing the Septic Solutions committee for the Vashon Maury Island Community Council.
