Well, if you are new to creating a blog you may wish to defer this for a bit, but sooner or later I think you'll come to appreciate being able to see how your blog will appear - as you are writing it! Install Windows Live Writer, and you'll be able to do just that.
To do so, click on this link (http://writer.live.com), push the "Get it free" button,
Then push the resulting "Run" button.
Clear the "extras", and click "Install".
When done it'll bring up http://home.live.com in a web page. Close it, then continue through the installation dialogs:
Enter your username and password that you use to log on to www.VashonGreen.org.
Select Metaweblog API from the list of weblog protocols and then enter http://vashongreen.org/metapost.ashx.
Allow Writer to create a temporary post.
...and you are done!
Windows Live Writer should start, and provide easy, visual editing with spell check, easy image insertion, and much more.
